The Health Education Network of Delaware (HENOD) is a professional organization dedicated to improving the practice of health education and health promotion in Delaware. Members represent a variety of disciplines - health educators, health promotion specialists, school health, fitness professionals, public health workers, registered dietitians, nurses, lay volunteers - anyone involved with promoting positive health and preventing illness.

We offer opportunities for members to network, pursue continuing education, and advocate for policy changes that promote improved health and well-being. HENOD was founded in 1997 by a small group of dedicated health professionals and volunteers, and has provided educational membership meetings, training, networking opportunities, and resources to our members.

From the President

If you've been checking this web page, you've noticed it hasn't been updated in a very long time. Unfortunately, due to a variety of circumstances, HENOD is on hiatus while we look at options for its future.

One possibility for the future involves reviving HENOD primarily as a provider of professional training and continuing education for health educators, health promotion specialists, Certified Health Education Specialists, and others promoting the public's health. We will need some committed volunteers to make this plan work. If you'd like to volunteer, please email us or write to the address at the bottom of the page.

There will be a decision by January of 2014 regarding the future of HENOD. Please let us know if you're interested in seeing the organization continue or rebuild.
