Who We Are
The Health Education Network of Delaware (HENOD) was organized in January 1997 as a network of professionals and volunteers working in the field of health education.
Our members work in a variety of settings in Delaware and neighboring areas.
Our goal is to improve health education programs, services, policies and resources through training, networking and collaboration with other health professionals.
HENOD works to increase professionalism, health knowledge, positive attitudes about healthy lifestyles and organizational capacity for health promotion.
What We Want To Do
The objectives of the Network are:
- Improve the quality of health education in Delaware,
- Assess our accomplishments, and our professional and community needs,
- Advocate for health education, healthy lifestyles and community needs,
- Share ideas about program planning and development, successes and failures,
- Network and collaborate on health education and health promotion initiatives,
- Nurture ourselves through educational programs, continuing education and informal networking and sharing.
The Health Education Network of Delaware meets four times a year. Meetings include presentations about health education issues, examples and discussions of health education responsibilities and competencies, and time for networking and information sharing. One of our meetings each year is a training conference open to all health professionals who might benefit.
